A story about losing, reconnecting, and playing again
Middle-aged Tai (Andrew Lam) runs a failing internet café that has seen better days. Bond (Will Or), a once-promising esports player, faces a crisis after being dropped from his team. Fay (Yanny Chan), Tai’s daughter, struggles to find stability years after graduation. Former action star Octo (Lo Mang) plays games to help his wife Lan (Alice Fung) cope with dementia.
Different generations, same frustration — until a Hong Kong-wide esports tournament brings them together. Tai decides to save his dying business by forming an unlikely team: three total newbies and one fallen pro. Together, they form “Happy Hour”, and their journey from practice room to grand stage becomes more than just a fight to win — it’s a journey of rediscovery, laughter, and second chances.
Directed by Dickson Leung, Good Game blends the pulse of esports with the warmth of family and friendship. It’s a heartfelt tribute to resilience — a reminder that even when life crashes, you can always Restart.
The film features powerhouse performances by Andrew Lam, Will Or, Lo Mang, and Alice Fung, bridging Hong Kong’s cinematic past and its digital future.
